Michelle is passionate about the content. However thats where the good ends. Shes disorganized, unclear assignments (which she changes closer to due dates). She relies on papers over tests which are repetitive. Her zoom sessions were good and helped clear up assignments kind of. Choose someone else if you can.
Michelle is a really caring professor and stresses the importance of self-care every time I've had her. Her instructions, rubrics and expectations for assignments are always unclear both in-class and online, even after asking for clarification. She has decent feedback, and yet gives high grades; attempt to meet her expectations, and you'll pass.
Literally, she just seems like a bit of a scatterbrained professor. Her grading makes no sense and she makes way too many mistakes on her rubric. Her Corrections confuse you. even when fulfilling the rubric expectations if you do not expressly explain yourself she will take off marks. I would never take her again because she is not a great person
Michelle is very vague about her assignments, but if you ask for clarification she will gladly give it to you. This was a great class and gave me a solid foundation for my future practice. She is not a hard marker as long as you put in effort and follow her guidelines. I would absolutely recommend her for this online class!
people had warned me and I didnt think it would be that bad. She is very unprofessional and she doesnt have clear grading/assignment criteria. she does not have constructive criticism, she just criticizes you for saying things she wouldn't. cant ask her for help because she won't explain. waste of my tuition $$$. class isn't difficult but she is
Really the worst academic experience of my life. Intensely confusing expectations, zero professionalism. The only good thing about her teaching is that it means shes not in the field ruining someones life. Many classmates rewrote entire thesis projects multiple times due to unclear instructions and her changing her mind. Avoid at all costs!
Michelle Bloom is a caring, sweet, respected, and inspirational professor. She wants you to do well in class. If you are present and engaged with the material, you will easily pass or potentially receive an A range mark. I was happy to share my mom's experiences with children at school with her. She was also engaging.
How is she a prof at Ryerson is beyond me. In all my year's at Ryerson I have never had a prof who is so rude, disrespectful and insensitive. Good luck trying to get a response back from her through emails because I never did. She posts everything on the announcements page instead of a providing a clear document. She thinks way to highly of herself
Slow paced course so be prepared to teach yourself and connect with peers for help. Her explanations are all over the place, making it unclear for students on her expectations. Be aware that she will change the course to "accommodate" to students (aka it is her perception of what she thinks works best, rather than asking students directly.)
Her lectures are slow-paced and she reads off of the slides. However, she is very passionate in sharing her knowledge with students. 3 tests and the final exam were all open book and straight forward. A lot of the people on here say that she can be rude, but she is actually very sweet and understanding. Overall, her class was easy and I did well.
