Chris Powell

Genuinely one of the best profs I have had at TMU. Truly cares about his students and is willing to accommodate as long as you communicate any issues you have throughout the semester. Very easily accessible and attendance is mandatory for grade but if you can't make it, he will not remove any marks. I highly recommend any class with him.

One of the best profs at TMU! All his quizzes were online, no exam, he is a hard marker but the course was easy. He posts all his lectures online so even if you dont attend you will do just fine!

He is not a bad professor and is very caring and accommodating. However what I don't like about this course is that grades are often posted at the last minut and the grading scheme feels very inconsistent

Professor Powell is one of my favourite professors at TMU. He is passionate about what he teaches and very caring. He is very understanding, regularly responds to the emails. This course is great for getting better at writing. He provides clear instructions for each assignment, so it is easy to do well in his course. I recommend taking his class!

Incredibly caring professor who is extremely knowledgeable. Makes theories and information easy to understand even when they're complex or heavy. Very high amount of reading but readings are chosen with care and are interesting.

He is so passionate about what he is teaching and does a very good job engaging with students. For this class you will be making soooo many concept maps one worth 10% one worth 15% then 10% attendance (must attend every class) Midterm take home with concept map (essay) worth 25% final essay with concept map worth 40%

Best Professor I have ever had! Truly wants to see his students succeed, so accommodating. He has in-class participation but didn't seem to ever mind if you completed it and then left after he called for the break. Gives great feedback on all assignments, very clear on instructions. Would recommend everyone take a class of his.

Overall good prof. Very insightful and relevant course material and lectures. Makes you use external websites outside of d2L. Participation matters so attendance is mandatory. Assignments might challenge you but they're cool assignments.

Prof Powell is a down-to-earth and accessible professor! He tailors his lectures to his student's interests and teaches them in a very engaging way. He also posts all his lectures/discussions online and offers a discord-type website which makes it easy to catch up on missed classes. Fair with marking and offers 5 flex days for missed assignments!

Awesome professor. Very understanding and flexible. Lectures and assignment instructions were very clear and explained well. 10/10 would recommend Dr. Powell.
