Don't know why there's so many negative comments on this prof but he was the absolute best and really funny, he's a fair marker, the group work was a little challenging and his exams were tricky at times but overall an amazing prof, highly recommend!
This course was asynchronous, which meant there was A LOT of reading. The modules feel super rambling and unclear, with lots of tangents. The group work feels unclear and challenging in an asynchronous course. The tests zone in on the most random facts, but don't address the learning outcomes. The questions feel like a 'gotcha'.
One of the worst courses I've ever taken. The class is asynchronous and online. The prof's writing is convoluted, self-indulgent, and full of jokes that make the material confusing and unfocused. His quiz questions are buried in bizarre scenarios that hide what's actually being asked. The course content is interesting, but his delivery ruins it.
Lectures are interesting but need to be more concise; full of "funny" rambling and tangents that to some may be entertaining but otherwise unnecessary, especially in an online asynchronous course. Gives study guides but tests on the most obscure parts that nobody would think to prioritize studying.
Dr. Mueller has been one of my favourite profs throughout my 4 years at TMU. He is very funny and makes it easy to learn the course content. He recorded and posted all lectures to make learning accessible. He is a very fair marker and exams were difficult but manageable if you do notes on both the lectures and textbook.
I previously took this class with another prof before dropping for a different course, and sadly, I really disliked the content and structure that Michael presented. He is an extremely fair marker, responds clearly and in a timely manner to emails, but lectures are long and filled with several tangents and ramblings. ADHDers beware
Keep on top of your note taking for the slideshows, and use the study guides he provides (very helpful). The quizzes are a bit tricky, but you will be fine if you study properly. I think he is a very nice individual and takes an interesting approach by connecting psych to philosophy. Although I found the class challenging, I got to grow from it.
Michael Meuller is a very unprofessional professor. He is very critical of students' work, and almost all of your grade is dependent on your group work, so if you're in a bad group there is nothing you can do. Micheal responds to students' emails with unprofessional humour. don't recommend it.
Professor Mueller is very polite and well-educated. His lectures can be quite long and content-heavy, but that is to be expected in a psychology course. I can see why some students may struggle with his courses, as they are not easy, but, Professor Mueller is extremely fair. His study guides always contained questions that were present in the exams
The lectures are heavy, much more than I thought it would be (at least 50 slides or more, with 2-3 parts) and I would spend HOURS watching them. They have audios attached and the professor talked slow. It was a pain to get through them each week.
