I took mth141 linear algebra with him a few years back, now im in my 4th year and this prof is still in my top 5 worst profs. I would kms than take him again
Good luck if you have this lady as your professor. There is so much I want to write here but unfortunately the guidelines will remove my review. If you end up with this woman, try your best to switch to another professor. He has no teaching skills and his grading is very bad. I would highly recommend to inform the Dean to do something.
He's a good at lecturing and he teaches all the knowledge that you need to know for tests in a clear way. However, his online tests were very difficult and long, it's very hard to finish on time. Overall, he's a good professor, but he's a very hard marker.
Dr. Horowitz is a good prof for those who learn well from examples. He starts with theory then solves problems. What I would like to see differently from him is to explain more about what he is doing when solving particular questions because sometimes it's not precise and it's hard for some students to follow because he skips a few steps.
This professor is garbage . His handwriting sucks . He doesnt know how to run a course properly with all the rebuttles . He makes exam questions depending on his mood and shames students that they will not be successful engineers . He is the worst professor at Ryerson STAY AWAY AVOID AT ALL COSTS
MTH141 was not that difficult with him online, he does a lot of examples so you would know what to do with various questions of the same theory. Though this course doesn't really touch on what linear algebra really is, just how to do it, watching a few extra vids and doing lots of textbook problems helps a lot.
If you're the type of person who is best taught through examples, Horowitz is your prof. He gives a lot of examples and doing some more textbook problems and reading the textbook helped me a lot. Tip for his online class- ignore the people who complain a lot and make use of all the math help Ryerson offers (tutoring and study halls).
Misunderstood prof (dw, this isn't Horowitz's burner). Doesn't have the best handwriting but teaches all the theory needed for you to be able to go on and solve problems on your own. Very knowledgeable in field, so he'll answer your questions very precisely. Excellent communication. Don't really see why people think he deserves any rating below a 3
Had him for calculus 1 and not a bad teacher. Tries to answer every question that comes up in class, and he is super specific with his answer. There were many technical difficulties this year, but Horowitz tried his best to listen to our concerns. He really makes you work for your grade.
doesn't care about his students at all. doesn't admit to his faults. shames students.
