Kristin Smith

Kristin was a very kind and understanding professor. They were always accessible and very lenient with due dates. But I found the marking to be tough. They would ask us to write two-page papers, but then the comments left were to expand more and to go more in-depth. Kinda hard to do so with so little space. Interesting prof with great life stories.

Little bit of a tough grader, but overall a great prof who is very caring of students and teaching. They try to get the class to participate & engage more. There was a writing piece and a paper (paper was weighted a lot) with a clear grading criteria. Pay attention in lectures! It will help along with slides (even if you dont read textbook)

Amazing prof! very knowledgable

She was really good at discussions, but she is not fair when it comes to tests and the way she marks. Although she was open outside of class, she deducts marks if she finds that she gave points on an exam that you did not deserve - which is kind of discouraging if you really wanted to ask how to do better. Also, the exams do not test your learning.

Lectures generally interesting, I enjoyed the discussions. Prof has excellent gender and class-based analysis but seemed weaker in other areas. Less receptive to critiques of academia. Heard a lot of great things about this prof but was a bit disappointed.

One of the best Profs I've had. She is kind, knowledgeable and presents difficult course concepts in a very digestible manor.

Kristin cares about their students for sure. All readings are online but you should read them all. 95% of them will be brought needed for any graded item. Sometimes a bit too heavy on memorization but they're very open to speaking after class and making the material more tangible.

if you arent big on readings, this prof isnt for you. you have to know her readings inside out and use them in papers and exams. her exam is ridiculously long , you will find, if youre a slow handwriter. she is a very pleasant person and knowledgable

Kristin is the best!!! Class isn't easy breezy, but she engages you and is really a great professor and person!!!

Kristin is an amazing professors, she is so kind and comforting. She is very accommodating if you have any special needs. She is clear with her feedback and the class is very engaging.
