Love her! Love the content love the way she teaches it! She kinda my goat at tmu and teaches the only classes I have any interest in. If you're good at memorization it shouldn't be too bad, just study the slides - her tests are difficult but fair. U gotta come to all the lectures and try but if u do that you'll have fun.
Wayy too much content. There are no curves, and u have to come to class to get the notes. Hate it so much I dropped out.
She does not have any sort of empathy towards students and there's just way too much content in her lectures.
Whoever goes into this class thinking it's easy is lying. The content itself is very dense and heavy, but her tests are very straightforward and mainly memorization based (and when i say memorization, it means EVERYTHING!). her lectures are decent, but if you study early on, it is very easy to do well!
Test questions straight forward. No final exam, 2 assignments worth 25% together marked very generously, I doubt anyone got under 90% on either assignment.
So happy I took this class, one of my favorite classes in my four years. Janet makes the content so interesting, easy to understand and memorize. The class had three non-cumulative tests (1hr, very straightforward), a final assignment, no exam. If you love animals/nature, definitely take this class. A hidden gem for bio students.
Good prof. It is a lecture heavy course, but it's not cumulative, and there is no final exam. There is a lot of material but it is interesting, and if you come to class (you have to), there is no reason you shouldn't understand the information. Prof is very knowledgeable and answers emails on time. There is no reason you shouldn't get a good grade!
this course is hard! she makes it hard honestly. too much information to learn considering you have other courses to deal with. she was terrible. she expects you to know so much detail. i would say to avoid her but i think she is the only prof that teaches Zoology. Get ready to work for your grade! Please be on top of your work for this course!!
DO not try to memorize last minute for the sake of your sanity and your grade. This class is A LOT of work and it is possible to attain a good mark but you need to start memorizing the slides early and review throughout the semester. The prof loves what she teaches and is very nice when asked any questions!
This is NOT an easy class, you have to memorize a lot of content, and new concepts. She is a very knowledgeable professor and does go into extreme detail. You must attend her lectures and constantly review the content. Be prepared to work for your grade!
