She was my CI for 2nd year. Shes lovely. Will stand up for you if your nurse is not teaching you or dumping their work on you. She has had a full career and loves to talk about it (lol). A few things: you will stay the full 12hrs, rarely go home early, lots of tangents. Overall no real negatives compared to my previous experience w a diff CI.
was late constantly. extremely unhelpful, did not care as much about our clinical as she did about sharing her personal life.
Shann didn't provide us many learning opportunities as a CI, and didn't say much that was educational. She was constantly late; we always arrived before 7 am and she arrived up to 30 minutes late. She mostly spoke about her personal life during our 2+ hour debriefs. We also stayed late at times, after 7 to past 8pm. And kind of passive aggressive
I had the wonderful experience with Shann as my CI! Yes, she talks a lot but she is inspirational and would always motivate you to be your best version. She has helped me a lot in recognizing the areas I had to improve in and she would never discourage you but always motivate. Overall, she's an easy marker and helpful and always there to motivate.
not a very good ci, mostly talks about herself. Kept us at clinicals over time (7:40-8pm) some days. DO NOT reccomend, I had the worst experience.
She is very unclear and she is not a good CI TRY TO avoid her at all costs pls.
Barely teaches, talks for hours about herself nothing relevant to actual clinical itself. Be ready to spend your time in LONG debriefs. Overall bad experience barely learned anything and wasn't too supportive. One thing is she does stick up for her students in case of any trouble in clinical setting.
350 words are not enough. Loves to give everybody a zero even though you've done your modules ON TIME cause she didn't like that you submitted a pdf file instead of a word document. Almost never responds to emails ever except when you cc her boss first. Will always spend the first hour of her class treating everyone like a first grader.
Does not teach during placement AT ALL and shames you for not knowing little things she expects. References outdated course material and takes off marks for her own convenience that doesnt reflect your understanding of practice at all. Has 0 empathy for any student and incredible inconsiderate and keeps you overtime w/ her off-topic tangents.
She'll like you one day, and the next she might do a 180 and hate you. She's an older nurse who values discipline, but I had a bad experience with her because of it. Basically, get ready to hear her long talks… never-ending talks… and vague instructions for clinical. She's honestly the worst but at times can be nice, she's weird.
