caring. understanding. lectures are boring and read off slides. weekly tests but really easy if u read the chapters. u can read only the textbook and pass with a good mark. workload is not bad and manageable. gives smartbook assignments weekly (based off textbook) but easy and free marks. marks relatively easy. don't have to attend lectures
the textbook is all you need to excel in this course. showing up for the lectures isnt even needed bc everything on the tests is word for word from the textbook. her marking is lenient but the group project was time consuming and frustrating. overall good prof just very serious and tedious
I am currently taking her second Human Development course after having her first semester for H/D 1. Her tests last semester were pretty easy, this semester they seem a bit harder (as expected) but she is a pretty generous marker, doesn't waste your time, is caring and usually happy. Smartbook assignments almost every week are long but easy marks.
This class wasn't hard but the prof makes us do smart book assignments which are very long and boring, the weekly tests are about class lectures and the smart book so make sure you pay attention. The assignments weren't hard, an essay about yourself connected to the theorists we learn in class and then a group assignment which also wasn't hard.
Reading the textbook will get you through the course as her lectures are based on the readings. Bi-weekly tests in replacement of an exam. Overall Sejal is a caring professor who is willing to give extensions and assignments are not difficult.
so many tests, but no exam which is beautiful!
She literally never answers her emails like ever. really hard to study for since all she does is copy the textbook word for word on her slides and makes it impossible to type notes because she changes the slides so quickly
Her lecture is all textbook-based and her grading is quite tough (u will literally lose marks for exceeding the page limit even just a little bit). Don't bother asking for an extension on the assignment because she will just gonna give you 1 hr which is not helping at all. But overall she is still a decent prof :)
Sejal Patel is a very down-to-earth teacher. She definitely makes you want to attend your lectures. It quizzes are textbook-based which are usually multiple-choice and fill in the blank. Definitely would recommend :)
Sejal's lectures are very textbook based so reading the textbook is almost the same as attending her lectures. There are chapter tests, a group assignment and an individual assignment which aren't too difficult to do. Sejal has been a wonderful and accommodating professor! Would recommend taking her class!
