Dr. Reid is a terrible professor. She doesn't make herself available to students: I asked her twice to meet with me to discuss some things I was struggling to understand, and she flat out refused. BEWARE: the material discussed in class is traumatizing and she offers absolutely NO support if you need it. She's also a ridiculous tough marker.
Jenna is a great teacher who really wants you to do well and understand the material. Very open and supportive of you expressing yourself in the way that you learn. I feel she gave clear explanations of how she expected you to apply theory to practical experiences. I learned a lot.
Professor Reid is an amazing prof who will understand everything you are telling her. I have had her for a few courses and she just delivers the classes great.
Jenna is an all-time rockstar, one of the most caring and genuine people I have unofficially met- She really goes above and beyond to help her students and that is something I appreciate so much. Her classes are not too hard, but there is a lot of readings. As long as you do the work and read the syllabus you will just fine. I have had her 4 times.
Very intelligent and critical! This class was amazing and it talks about mental illness in a much different way than other disciplines do. There was a midterm, essay, final, and discussion posts every week. This class is very accommodating and flexible and the readings are interesting as well. Easy A, if you put in the work. Both tests were M/C.
One of the most memorable and wonderful profs I've had at Ryerson. DST500 as a course really is amazing on its own but Jenna brings a special flavour to it which made me glad she was my section prof. Amazing paper suggestions/feedback. Even now that I'm graduating I still see that paper as some of my strongest work and I have her to thank.
She is so awesome! She is so passionate about her work in the field as well as passing useful knowledge to her students. She is a great prof and just an overall great person too. She encourages students and does not bring them down which just makes me want to work harder for her! One of the best profs I had during my three years.
Jenna is in my top 3 favourite profs from my entire time at Ryerson. She taught me so much in such an accessible way that I was sincerely regretful that I only discovered her classes in my last semester and therefore couldnt take her again. She has a solid understanding of Mad History/identity/activism and is great to learn from. Best class!
As I had her last semester for DST 725 - Politics, Practices and Interventions, I was very lucky to have her as my instructor. She is a very caring, lovely, accessible and accommodating woman. Thank you Jenna for helping me succeed!
Jenna was a joy to have a professor, as she is as passionate about the subject of madness as she is knowledgable. I learned more new things in that class than probably all of my other class combined that semester. What I especially appreciated was her depth of knowledge of alternative theories about madness, and how much she taught about them.
