Very knowledgeable in networking and teaches concepts in way thats pretty easily understandable. His exams never go beyond anything in the lectures, so make sure u understand all of his slides, the questions come from those. He does love mcq/theory thats usually worth 40% of his exams so study the theory from his slides. Fair marker i think atleast
He's not a bad prof tbh. You can understand what he's saying and his lecture notes are clear enough. It is important to attend lectures though so that you can get the context. Tests were pretty fair, but be prepared to study his notes.
3-hour lectures with no break is crazy, dubious, and unequivocally extraneous. also streets are saying its difficult to understand his accent because some of the words in the course are niche and sound similar so you get confused lowkey tho. i still like his vibe tho
Prof Hafeez's 768 class was a mostly enjoyable with a good balance of challenging you but still remaining pretty fair in terms of midterm/final-exam difficulty. Those two tests never really went beyond any lecture material- just a LOT of memorization is needed. Labs were mostly doable, but you'll have to work a decent amount for the final project!
COE 768 is a really hard course, in my opinion. But Hafeez's teaching is unmatched. He helped me understand the content so well.
The professor marked hard on the midterm and final and had no justification for his marking whatsoever. His lectures are long and boring, with content that must be memorized strenuously. He did give bonus marks in the form of quizzes, however, you could be a mark or 2 off from passing and he would not hear you out or give you any extra chances
This prof is ruthless. He doesn't give reasonable part marks for the midterm and final exams. I asked to see my final exam and asked him whether its reasonable for me to get more part marks for a question as I needed 2 more percent on the theory component to pass. He gave me 0 marks for that question saying that none of my work is right. Continued.
Midterms and final exams were all based on lectures. The professor does not like repeating himself and is very hard to approach to ask questions. If you ask a question, he just says he went over it during class and assumes you skipped his lecture. There's barely any part marks, and you must follow his way of solving problems, or else you get zeros.
(For COE608) His lectures can be quite boring and monotonous, you'll likely be learning most of the content on your own, it's a shame since this course is so fundamental for comp. He does provide problem sets and quizzes which are a good way to test your knowledge and prep for exams. He did host review lectures before exams which were helpful.
Avoid him at all times if you're taking COE608.
