Professor Schwartz made this class *so* easy despite it being an online class; students had a choice whether or not they wanted to complete short or long assignment(s), and we could schedule our due dates according to what works for us. She's also an easy marker and allowed us to rewrite our assignments. Take her classes if you can!!
Meredith made this upper liberal so amazing, I havent completed it yet (only week 4) but she does a contract/unit grading scheme allowing you to choose whether youd like to complete more short assignments or fewer longer assignments. She wrote the textbook herself and all the content is really interesting. She's very helpful and kind <3 love her
Meredith really made a difficult course feel a lot more bearable. Doing the readings alone was hard, but going to her lectures helped me to understand what each concept was and which philosopher it belonged to. She always presents with enthusiasm and is very approachable.
Meredith is knowledgeable professor, a great resource outside of class and an advocate of respect. The fact that she exists in an environment that is male dominated is a testament to her dedication to the field of philosophy. Any student would benefit from pursuing a course with her. Come to class, do the work, use office hours and you'll b fine.
Come to class and participate (much easier than online- 10%). you will have 2 Blog Post but make sure you look at the instructions in order to to tick off what you need to get all the marks, and 2 mini assignments are easy. Exam she gives you all the questions you need to know but it was easier than expected
Though weekly topics were interesting, I didnt enjoy the deliverance of the material. Due to the 10% participation mark, she allows students to continually ask questions (which tend to get irrelevant) and this can go on for as long as like 30 minutes before returning to the lecture -- makes you lose interest in lecture. Heavy final as there's no mc
She is a passionate and engaging professor who cares about the material and the students. I would highly recommend taking any course with her.
Dr. Schwartz is very passionate about philosophy, I took this course not knowing a thing about it and she was willing to go out of her way to make sure you understand what is being taught. Very informative lectures but a lot of readings. If you do your readings and go to class you can earn a great mark! I would definitely have her as a prof again!
don't take course with her if you're not good at writing philosophy essays which are totally different from nursing essays
She has two classes so the TA gives a better mark for her class and if the prof is marking your class, good luck and hope she'll give you a 70 at most.
