Kathleen initially understood student life and valued class input. Midway through the term, expectations became very unclear. Assignments lacked significant detail, key info was ONLY shared in class, and instructions often contradicted outlines. Tests relied solely on lecture notes. While nice, she was very difficult to clarify expectations with.
Avoid this professor!! She is unclear with her instructions and belittles you if you don't understand them. I've observed several classmates ask for clarity, and she becomes passive-aggressive towards them. What makes it worse is that she and the TA mark extremely hard on your work, and the class average was low. If you want a decent grade, SWITCH.
Kathleen was a very nice and knowledgeable professor that I have had. She created the textbook and gave it to us for free. You can get great marks on assignments and quizzes if you participate in class and lectures. She was organized and clear. Also, she was supporting and caring if you need more help and clarification she always are available.
pop quizzes only consists of 3 questions. If you get one wrong, its an automatic C-grade. does not mention answers on textbook or she would talk about it briefly during the lectures.rubrics are unclear and will get mad that you do not understand the work; praise people that got high marks but degrades those who did not do "well" on a reflection
Initially, thought she was nice and cool because she created the textbook to be free and accessible for students but when it came to grading, she is extremely tough and her rubrics are not clear and are over-explained to make it confusing. Lectures can be boring. Work heavy because of weekly work. Have to be in class for quizzes. Overall meh prof.
Shes great! She really helps you get a good mark in her class.
Kathleen is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject! It doesn't matter how well you write if forget to use references for assignments in this class even if it's not communicated your grade will be at risks. Her assignments will help you critically think to develop an inclusive literacy curriculum for children. She's a tough grader
Can talk you to death, most droll class of the semester. Didn't really teach anything we didn't know. Nice lady though. I only used the book for references in 2 assignments. Ask for clarity. No exams. Newsletter assignment was fun. Easy A overall. She even complained about the class having an A average, might be slightly hard for the next class.
Kathleen's a wonderful prof! She'll introduce you to many children's books and literacy resources that are very useful for you as an educator. No testsexams, just mostly group activities and a few individual written assignments. Attendance and participation is key, and she makes the class fun and engaging.
