She is one of the best instructors out there. Definitely taking other classes with her.
Robyn Cumming is one of the best profs at IMA . She is extremely knowledgeable , talented, helpful , kind , funny .. I can go on and on. She is a mentor and an artist. Gave birth to love and appreciation I have for fine art photography, not to mention the confidence I have in my practice. FYI need to attend classes to pass .
Not a textbook course but a mandatory one for student in Image Arts Photography. She is a very well respected teacher and I enjoy recieving horrible criticisms on my work because it makes me a better student. I wish I could have her for every class.
As one of my advisors I couldn't have asked for better. Robyn is incredibly attentive; she genuinely cares about your work and progress. She shares great insight on which direction to take, and best of all pushes you to create a challenge for yourself. She knows a lot about contemporary art. She's super friendly, witty, and also dresses very well!
Robyn was always a consommate professional; clear, easy to understand, welcoming, and knowledgable. I was always able to spend time with her during office hours to recieve guidance with coursework. Robyn has an excellent sense of humor and is extremely friendly. Robyn is also active in the contemporary art community.
Robyn is one of the hardest working professors at Ryerson. Balancing her positions as the director of the Ryerson Artspace, professor for three first year student classes, and mentor and thesis advisor, she still manages to go the extra mile for her students. Her caring and honest approach nurtures ideas and encourages high quality production.
I worked under Robyn as an Intern at Ryerson's off campus gallery as a co-op credit. If you are interested in pursing a career in photography or the arts I highly recommend taking this course ! Robyn is very experienced and knowledgeable about how to run a gallery and provided me with amazing practical skills for post-graduation!!
She is incredibly knowledgeable and involved with her students. As a practicing Artist, and the Ryerson Artspace Gallery Director, she has the tools to introduce and support students to the professional Toronto arts community. She demonstrates genuine interest in the success of her students. Taking this professors course was a privilege.
Does not have very good content. Her teaching is not post secondary caliber. Student's have only 4 years of school until thrown into the real world and this is class is not good enough. Little techniques taught, poor feedback. Not knowledgable enough to be teaching at this level. Her course will not help you prepare to exist professionally.
Great Prof, super smart and a brilliant artist.
