Beware of this professor, her tests are extremely hard although they're online. Three midterms and a paper all worth 25%. She never got through her lecture slides, and went on unrelated tangents. Class is content heavy but barely helped on the exam. Paper was reasonable. The final was online + responds and webcam. I don't ever suggest taking her.
Prof Milligan is great! Her vast knowledge and experience in the field of clinical psychology makes her an excellent instructor for PSY325. Her slides are constantly updated with new and current research findings, making her lectures incredibly valuable to attend. Only warning for students: her open book exams are deceivingly hard. Content Heavy.
The way she runs the course is hard to get used to. Go to lecture, as she says and tests you on many of the things that arent on slides that she just says. Never finishes the slides and tests you on the many slides she did not end up covering. Paper was graded unnecessarily harsh. Not too bad, but you will flop if you dont work hard.
This was definitely one of the more challenging psychology classes, but I really liked her teaching style. She is such a sweetheart and cares for her students a lot. I loved talking to her about grad school and psychology in general. Also, the bonus exercise was a nice even though hectic surprise. Make sure to prepare well for her exams!
Karen is an absolutely amazing professor. I took her class in the fall, and loved her so much that I took another one of her classes in the winter without even reading what the course was. Her tests are fair, assignments easy, and she is very approachable. Her end goal is that all of her students leave understanding the material - no tricks.
Karen is an incredibly kind professor. She truly cares about her students and their success. Her lectures are great and her exams straight from the slides and a little bit of textbook overlap. Taking more classes with her in the future for sure.
Karen really cares about her students and tries to help as much as she can. Tests are fair, just make sure to read the textbook! Marked a little hard on the written assignment but gave decent feedback, and her lectures were engaging. Overall a good prof.
Karen is super sweet and willing to help. I went to her class maybe once a month because of personal issues and I still did ok on exams. The content for psychological disorders was really interesting and made the readings not that bad (which I HIGHLY recommend you do) overall, it was fine and I didn't stress about this class at all
She's a nice teacher but the thing that screws students over is the long PowerPoint slides and the reading from the textbook. Her TA's mark the papers and they pretty much a strict with marking the papers. The course was interesting but psychology in general is a lot to take in. Ifor you're not into psy, don't take the course.
DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. I read some bad reviews but decided to take it anyway thinking how bad could it be? It's deceiving because her lectures are interesting and she seems like a kind person. The midterm didn't seem that hard and I thought I did well but I did horribly so I guess they marked extremely hard??? Listen to the reviews.
