Very smart prof and really knows QM, however I was first worried about the difficulty level of the exams. But, his grading exam is very fair. Thus, overall this was a great class and I actually learned something (besides getting a good grade).
As a chemistry student I am required to take Quantum Physics, no big deal, the concepts and theory seems interesting. BUT NOPE, this guy made the course much harder than it needed to be. I understand that there's a lot of math involved and it isn't his fault that we're unprepared but he should've realized that the WHOLE class was struggling
People from chem have to take this course (not sure why) so we lack a lot of the fundamental maths associated with it (complex numbers, ODEs, PDEs) not sure why he teaches useless material that we don't need, I wish he taught useful material we will need. Not solving classical wave equations, memorizing equations and constants, going to kill my GPA
The professor uses too much math leaving me sometimes confused since the math presented in class are higher year level and definitively not first semester material. However, the professor has some interesting facts. Fewer maths would be better.
The professor really knows the material in the lecture and provides lots of examples with clear explanations, but sometimes it is too much info.
Dr. Cordes is very knowledgeable in his field and encourages the understanding of the fundamentals of each concept. However, sometimes it seems the prof forgets we are first semester students and delves into integrals. Nonetheless he is a good prof, and his teaching style is effective.
Great teacher, however the Teaching assistant was not great at all.
he's a really great person, but that doesn't mean he's a good teacher. go to his office hours if you wanna learn from him. that's the only way
The class material is not easy, but he is good and very patient, and if you go to class and take notes, you will receive a good grade.
