Content didn't have much to do with actual pop culture. I was also told that my assignment answers were wrong when it was clearly just political bias from the TA and Dr. Blake
Dr Blake is a really kind guy. The class content was interesting but I felt like the lectures kind of dragged on. Not the most exciting lecturer but very easy grading scheme. It just kind of sucks that the readings are more interesting than the lectures but I got a good grade so I'm satisfied. He's super sweet tho would take again for that alone
He is super kind, always ready to talk and engage with students. He tries his best to remember everyone's names. He does 3 seminars in the semester which are about 10% each. No textbooks, but has readings every week. Pay attention in class tho because the slides are purely images, no wording. Instructions for evaluated assignments are very clear.
Very knowledgeable on the subject being taught. Teaches with passion and is a very nice and funny guy. I loved his class and would absolutely take another class by him.
Loved Dr. Blake! He gives a lot of opportunities to do well in the course. He prioritizes cultivating a community and "found family" in our classes. You can tell that he really cares for his students and wants us to do our best. He is very accommodating and understanding. Would take him again for sure!
Professor Blake is my favourite professor to date! He's amazing, cares about not only the content but about the wellbeing of his students, is super understanding, chose a great TA (Kai Schmidt), and grades easily! Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory; just show up to the three seminars worth 10% each!
Dr. Blake is a knowledgeable and caring man. Make sure to take advantage of office hours since he gives lots of clear advice on upcoming assignments if you need it. Also go to seminars, they are an easy way to get marks and get to know the prof.
One of the most amazing professors I've ever had. He's so obviously immersed in what he teaches. Dr. Blake is caring an dedicated to teaching his students great content. I genuinely loved his course.
I went to two classes the entire year and passed with a B or a B+, you can do everything from home since he posts the lectures and readings, as well as notes on the readings. There are 3 seminars you need to go to, just read the readings for it and study up and just say what you think is interesting about it at least once and youll pass with 100%.
He's nice but grades too heavily. Lectures were boring
