The course is quite easy, mainly focusing on simple calculations, a scratch on probability. Prior knowledge of sample space would be helpful. But he makes it very easy to understand and follow, so it's fine if you don't. Remember to do everything three times because you can make some typo on your calculator. What is the red book about?
I'm not a student in this department but I took this course as an elective. I really loved his teaching style and the extra material he posted. The course isn't easy, but as long as you do the practice questions you'll be ok. I thought the exams were fair. What we learned was actually among the most interesting things in my entire degree so far.
Go to class. Listen to what he says. Do the problems. Dr. Liberda literally holds your hand and tells you what to expect on the exams and how to do it, just do the work. It doesn't matter if you suck at math, you need to put in effort and you will succeed. Take notes on his work and his little tricks.
Take the time to learn the material and to apply it otherwise you will fail. There are no free marks and those who put in the work get rewarded. Know your scientific notation, rounding, read the textbook and do the practice questions. I recommend a Casio FX991 Calculator. Listen and write down when he tells you what is on the exam. STUDY THAT.
Not only does he make it fun, but he also tells you exactly what will be expected in the exam. I was so nervous before taking this class. As everyone said, this is the class many people fail, and it's so hard, but I would like to disagree. This course is probability, and if you don't attend the lectures, you will fail, SO DON'T MISS THE LECTURE.
Amazing professor, very caring, respectful and helpful. That kind of professors that you will never forget
If you're in Occ/Public health you are bound to have Doctor Liberda! You will be welcomed to university with one of the most intelligent professors in the faculty. Show up to lectures, this is not a course that can be self taught. His exams are fair, just study! He is so kind, charming and his jokes are funny! He isnt awkward, go up & talk to him!
He is a great prof. The material isnt easy to understand unless you make an effort. He is a little akward when you speak to him one on one but he does actually help explain material. He keeps lectures light hearted and easy to follow. 10/10
You can not understand his slides unless you attend his classes. 90% of the course grades are on the midterm and final exams. We have one assignment out of 10% and that assignment is difficult.
One of the rudest professors I have ever met. I didnt miss any of his classes and every time I go to class me and my friends leave confused about the material. Slides are disorganized and he talks a lot He will make jokes in class but really not funny. This prof is the worst try to avoid taking the class with him if you can!!
