Jennifer makes sweeping generalizations and assumptions about students discussion posts. Her comments paint everyone's work as sub-par. She is likely trying to bring the discussion to the next stage, however her wording is quite heavy-handed. I received a good grade in her class but would not recommend her as a professor; she is very hierarchical.
Ms. Paterson was a really engaged instructor. Participation in the class is key and strongly encouraged - my grade depended on it! Very accommodating and attentive to student needs which is refreshing to see a teacher walk the talk since this is a disability class. Learned a lot. Marks were fair so long as I put in the work.
A friend suggested this course to me and I'm so happy I took it! She took it with another instructor and told me that the readings and assignments are the same. Jennifer gave me lots of feedback and helped me learn. She's very good at answering emails and questions.
One of the hardest markers ever + WAY too many assignments, but I was okay with it because this was truly an inspirational and engaging course. She really gets you to think critically. She's really passionate. Don't take this for an "easy A", but if you want an elective that's interesting and doesn't make you wanna shoot yourself, this is the one.
Jennifer is ok. You can tell that she is passionate about the course and knows the content well. However, she is a very tough grader and a lot of work goes into this course with little pay off. While she does answer emails fast, her replies are not the most helpful. The course content is quite interesting but again the assignments & grading lack.
Shes okay. Shes very passionate about the course, it feels like whatever you say in the discussions aren't "good enough" shes a pretty tough marker, I dont recommend this course if you aren't actually interested in Disability Issues. Some positives are she makes you try to think outside the box a lot as well as shes always available to answer quest
She is passionate professor but if you are not sociology student or have good knowledge or high interest in sociology, she won't be the professor for you. She only focuses on sociological views about disability and nothing else. You will have great difficulty getting through her course if you are not used to sociological views and disagree with her
Hard marker, knew her stuff and was passionate about it. Helps others to understand concepts and assignments.
Online course - she did a good job of being engaging regardless of being all online. Hard marker, but gives constructive, personalized feedback. Very engaging course, enjoyed her instruction very much.
