I actually enjoyed this course with Rebecca. She's kind of difficult to gauge when it comes to papers and what she expects (I've never met a prof that actually looks at your reference list and grades that as well), but she does provide feedback on everything and present to us with energy and interesting topics if you're interested. Would take again

She provides a lot of feedback on papers, which is nice. BUT she writes all these great things "very good paper, amazing thesis" etc. but gives low marks. The highest I got on a paper was an 80, which is the lowest I've ever gotten on any essay. I thought pop culture would be an easy lower liberal but it's unnecessarily difficult with Dr. Lock.

Kind of distant, but approachable through email, extensions are not a problem. Discussion board is a joke, but you have to participate. 2 papers, midterm and a final all online. Decent but not the greatest

As sociology courses can be rather repetitive but interesting, this prof was a great choice. I must emphasize that the papers in the course were quite tedious on grading though. However, the midterms and final will definitely make up for that. If you study the textbook and articles, you'll do amazing. She made the exams very easy and helpful too!

Tested or arbitrary things that had little to do with the lecture of textbook, marking was very subjective Avoid at all costs

Class was boring and dry. She's a tough marker. There's a reflection paper, midterm and final all worth 30%. One mini assignment worth 10%. Her multiple choice is tricky so get ready to remember all the readings. Nearly impossible to stay awake because she literally reads off the slides and starts discussions. Not a bird course.

DONT TAKE THIS CLASS! her lectures were so boring and useless. She takes off marks for the most random things. the type to give you a 0.75/1. HER TESTS ARE THE WORST AND SHE EVEN ADMITS THEY ARE HARD!! shes not even knowledgeable about her own material, she relies on the class for most of it.

Classes aren't boring, but then again, this course is actually interesting (to me). She is a decent prof, but has MANY idiosyncrasies that she will literally tell you about in her course outline. She is good at explaining things and giving examples. Classes are more about discussion and having a conversation.
