Very approachable and is always accessible if you need extra help or clarification on grades received, past topics covered, current assignments, or just general professional/CPA guidance. He does not try to trick you, exam questions will be similar to accounting issues covered in lectures. Applying IFRS/ASPE to cases is the core of this course.
He didn't really teach anything. He didn't review any Accounting theory that we learned in Intermediate I or II and went straight into analysis. Make sure you know your theory because he expects you to know and it and he "teaches" how to analyze .. aka fill out his case plan theory. Doesn't post grades in a timely manner. Not great feedback either.
This guy shouldn't be teaching at all, I can't believe he is getting paid to do absolutely zero teaching, if it's self taught then I don't think we need a professor, ESPECIALLY not him, do NOT recommend, SWITCH CLASSES
Communication is really important in an online class, but if you expect that from him, don't take his class! Absolute nightmare of a man, a bit confused why he is teaching online when he lacks the skills necessary to do so.
If you have him just switch or dont take the course. Trust me - I read these reviews and thought I could defy all odds but I was wrong. You need this course to continue in the SAF program anyway so no point in risking it like I did. With him I got a C in the class.. re took it with Else grech the following semester & got an A. Dont do it!!!!
Expects you to come into class with an understanding of the chapter and moves through content very quickly. Completes problems from the textbook for the full lecture. AFA200 is a hard class and he doesn't help with that. Go to his office hours and do as much practice as you can - attending his lectures is simply not enough
Lectures are super fast and you are expected to know the material prior to coming to class. No half marks. If a question is wrong, you get 0. If you get him, switch profs.
mark is broken down with a 40% midterm, 50% final and 10% online homework. that being said, a large portion of the tests were based on the questions done in class, so attendance is necessary. he expects students to come in with knowledge in managerial so its important to do practice questions before class.
Kevin is very engaging and knowledgable but he treats you as if you should already know everything about managerial. This is a hard class and he doesnt explain anything, he just does practice problems in class so you end up just memorizing, then the midterm requires that you can build from the practice. Hes a funny guy just doesnt explain enough.
goes through the material like hes skating on ice, good course
