Unless you have ambitions on becoming a clinical psychologist, do not take this course. There are much better psychology courses offered at Ryerson and it's just not worth completing this class with its dull material, Cassin's empty slides and with this COVID situation you'd expect her to mark the 50% essay leniently. Wrong. Horrible.
Im not sure if it was the 8am start, but this class was close to being unbearable. It is very career oriented, so if you are not interested in becoming a clinical psychologist, do not take this course. The professors exams are very difficult, and she marks harshly.
I feel like this class was kinda empty. Marks come from 3 exams and 1 case study. The case study feels like a reading comprehension and summary rather than an essay. Exams are multiple choice, mostly from textbook, Long, and designed to trip you up with similar sounding words and stuff, which I don't respect. I wish the class had been engag
I found her to be quite nice and she used a lot of the experiences she had in clinical practice in class which helped make it more engaging. I never bought the textbook and did fine just from attending the lectures and looking over the slides. The tests were pretty straight forward and the essay was pretty easy.
Seems nice, but her exams and assignments are really difficult. I studied so hard for the first exam and completely forgot to study for the 2nd and I failed both. Put a lot of effort into the final assignment and just barely passed. I paid attention and took notes, but her exams are brutal and she and her TAs are hard markers. Wouldn't recommend.
This class was interesting but all exams were straight from the textbook. You can legitimately skip every class just to read the book and powerpoint slides. However, keep in mind this course needs a lot of memorization and her exams are very detailed. She made a lot of marking mistakes on my final and I was really frustrated.
Really great professor. She's helpful and kind and willing to see you outside class time and her office hours. Take a class with her and you won't regret it.
Stephanie has a very good personality and is really helpful. Her pieces of advice helped me a lot to write the paper. So go and see her, if you have any questions.
Amazing prof. She's new to teaching, but has been a practicing clinical psychologist for quite a while and related the field work to the course. Super nice and interesting, always available for help, and very fair. Most info for exams on her lecture slides, very thorough though. Overall, amazing class. Take it with her!
