very professional in terms of teaching. Brings practical knowledge that is required in the real life unlike other accounting profs in the university. Tests are standard and marks fairly.
he's helpful but unclear, and his tests are WAY left field. so many people in his class failed
He's not a bad prof but needs to provide more examples of questions/problems to study from. The midterm was hard and unclear as there was too much qualitative stuff. He needs to cut down on reading the powerpoint slides and focus more on practicing problems.
Look, he's a great guy, explains things well and is very helpful. But he's a hard marker, and the examples he uses in class doesn't prepare you for the final. Helpfulness to students doesn't compensate for the initial preparation for the whole class
The best professor at Ryerson! Wish he taught 742/842 as well! He is so thorough and clear with everything he explains. He is organized and knows what he is talking about. Has lots of good real-world advice as well! Plus he's great eye candy! Simply the best! Take tax with him!
Teaches what you need to learn and does not just give you tons and tons of useless information. He knows how the real world works and teaches with that in mind. He will take up a few problems in class, but you still need to do problems by yourself and make notes. Midterm and final was just as he told us, no surprises.
Great professor. Extremely clear and concise even with the content being quite dense. One of the best accounting professors I've had thus far. The mid-terms and final are definitely fair, no surprises, not an easy course but you get out what you put in. Would highly recommend Tran to anyone; I left this course loving taxation.
Very good prof although he tricked us for the quizzes and final.. his midterms and finals are fair but quizzes are tough.very helpful and must attend his classes. must read the book and understand it. don't memorize the answers.fair marker.
