As a physics major, I was very excited for this course. Dr. Chithrani is a kind and intelligent woman, but she is unable to teach. She is a qualified researcher, but unqualified teacher. Lectures are fast-paced and unorganized, hw is tedious and challenging, & tests vary. My physics lab TA tutors me now. Avoid this professor at all costs!
Worst professor I've ever had. Her teaching style is sporadic so it's extremely hard to follow her. I was wanting to major in physics but I suffered greatly in this class and feel no motivation to stick with physics. When she hands back tests she makes it obvious what mark people got with snarky remarks so if you didn't do well it is humiliating.
really seems to know her stuff, and is an amazingly smart woman. sometimes all over the place when lecturing, but when you get used to her style she becomes easy to follow. Just read up before you show up to class, and you should be fine. Midterms and final were fairly straightforward. Really cares about you and wants you to succeed as she did.
Overall good professor, teaching style is very focused on examples. If you want lengthy notes you'll have to use a textbook. Cares and encourages students to do their best. My suggestion is to preread the lectures and go in ready to answer questions and do examples.
She is unorganized, not methodical and confusing. I would not take her class again as I often found myself confused as to where she got some of the equations she uses. Her way of explaining things doesn't make sense, she assumed we knew a lot of the things we were being taught and sounded condescending.
Really really cares about her students. Will do whatever it takes to make you understand.
Very intelligent physics prof. Always asks the class on whether or not they understand.
She treats her students as her own kids so she shows tough love. Pretty smart woman. She knows all her students, even if you're in your own bubble she will know when you skip class. Never skip her class for i-clickers and for you own sake. most of her midterm and final questions are from classes. she solve a lot of problems in class, pay attention!
The best physics prof of first year physics. All you need to do is attend class and you'll most likely understand everything just by sitting there and paying attention for 2 hours. Only problem is she gets cranky a lot though, but is funny at the same time. She does ALOT of examples in class and some appear on the midterm/final.
Great prof. Although very easy to get a decent mark in her class. Just make sure you go through her slides. The exams strictly reflect off of her slides. Show up to class and pay attention and you're basically guaranteed an A+. She takes up majority of the questions in class so not understanding is not an excuse. All and all, very good prof.
