Dr. Fiocco is great, expects us to stay disciplined and keep on top of the course material, and rewards students for putting in effort. It's clear she really wants to give everyone the chance to succeed. Showing up for lectures is rewarded. Try your best to attend class for the best marks.
I would steer clear of this professor at all costs
Dr. Fiocco is so kind, I don't understand why her ratings are so low. She wants her students to exceed in the course and is very approachable. The course is challenging and requires lots of studying due to the amount of content presented weekly. But, doing well is possible if you pay attention, ask questions, and dedicate time outside of class.
This class is not easy, but it is so rewarding. Dr. Fiocco deeply cares about every single student. She is willing to meet for extra help and answer questions in class. She is the kindest professor I have ever had. I think her ratings are low because the course content is tricky, but I promise that no other prof could teach it as well as she can
Professor Fiocco was the best professor I have ever had in TMU so far. She deeply cares and encourages her students to succeed. If you get a low mark she encourages you to talk to her during her office hours and will help you reach the mark you desire. Would recommend her but be ready to study about stress models with some bio!
the way she responds to questions almost makes you feel bad about yourself, she asked for extremely specific details of research studies on the midterm, it is not worth all of the effort and time you will put into it.
studied so hard for the midterm and got an amazing grade only to receive garbage grade for my assignment which will drag the whole gpa down. incorporated “how female professors are rated harshly on ratemyprofessors” on lecture slides, maybe its just you tbh. why dont you read the feedbacks here and actually reflect on yourself and change?
Recorded lectures were a lifesaver. I struggle with bio do this course was hard for me — I had to study harder than I ever have before not gonna lie. She was kind, did mindfulness & breathing exercises to start off her class, and rewarded students for participation. There is a 3 question quiz each week, it's only graded by participation (free mark)
the way i would've dropped her class so fast if not bc i want this specific course on my transcript. heavy lectures BUT even heavier bc she asks for all the research studies mentioned, idk why its more important than the other contents. panicked if she cant answer student's questions and say “can we move on” bc she dk the answers
kind and passionate about what she's teaching but i feel like she doesn't really know how to explain things. she reads off the slides and doesn't explain the biological latin words that im pretty sure are unfamiliar for all of us. answers “i dont know” a lot to students' questions on the spot. interesting materials if she knows how to teach
