Professor Agrey's lectures are very applicable to one's daily life. After taking PSY614, I felt inspired and motivated to exercise. I enjoyed my experience in the course, as Professor Agrey was keen on facilitating class discussion and keeping the course interactive. It is super important to come to class as she highlights what will be on exams.
This professor has an ergo issue. She preaches about how amazing she is but doesn't actually teach for the majority of the lecture. When she does teach it's by reading directly from the textbook. I cannot speak for her other classes but in this class she had a favourite and everyone else was spoken down to. I took this class September-December 2019
Did not teach anything in lecture, everything on exam from textbook. 5 minutes per lecture spent paraphrasing the textbook, the other 2 and a half hours consisted of her repeating herself and talking about things us students should do to better ourselves. More like a bad self help broken record than a class.
Got an A in this class but the experience was not great. Professor showed up late every week 20-30min which always meant the lecture ended at 930pm. Material is easy, but the tests were tough to study for considering it is all fill in the blank and spelling counts. Lectures good for her telling you answers and trying to be a motivational speaker.
I showed up to the first two classes, realized the lectures had NOTHING to do with what I would be graded on, so I stopped coming except for exams. I got an A but this class is ridiculous: it's not a real psychology course, it's a self-help class. Nothing said in class will help you get a good grade. You can totally make up your paper, too.
Geri is an amazing Professor, I took this course because I needed an elective. But I got more than I bargained for. Yes the course is TOUGH with LOTS OF READINGS, and fill the in blank tests. However, I learned things that were useful in real life situations, which is an exception in comparison to the teachings in our current curriculum. Recommend!
Professor Agrey is amazing. She not only clearly explains the concept in the course but she connects them to real life. I loved attending her class because of the practical life advice she intertwined with each lesson. I definitely recommend this course to anyone looking to take psych electives.
She is the worst psychology professor that I have had at Ryerson U. She rambles on and on during lecture and doesn't even have notes to refer to. She is a waste of time and money. Don't take this course!!!
Geri Agrey is an amazing professor. I took the Psychology of Sport class with her this spring, not only did I learn a lot about both sports psychology and life in general, I also enjoyed coming to each class. Just attend all of the classes and do the readings. You can easily get an A in this class.
Probably one of the best psych profs at Ryerson. She makes the content relatable and speaks from experience. Her exams are not entirely hard as long as you do the readings and attend class, she points out info you need to know and things you can omit. Her lectures inspire you to make a change in your life. Definitely recommend this class!
