Review - Professor John Allen is a great professor who tries to make his lectures interesting and engaging by using kahoot. Attendance is not mandatory, but helpful as his midterms and final exams are based off his lecture slides for the most part and covers up the answers in class. Overall, not a bad professor and would recommend.
He's a great professor, always answers your questions.
The professor's good, but the class could've been more engaging than just reading off the slides. It was a bit monotone, but Kahoot made things a little more interesting. Still, it could've been better, though I did learn a lot. Overall, it was decent.
Very laid back professor, posts all his slides and doesn't care about your attendance which is great. I've taken both LAW122 and LAW603 with this prof and he makes all the tests fairly easy, plus theyre open book. Very low- maintenance courses which is something you need during a busy semester
Excellent professor who answers questions and goes through slides in full detail. He provides many examples that help you understand the concepts. He is great.
Overall a very good prof. The lectures were very detailed and the midterm and final were pretty straightforward as long as you attend the class and understand what's going on.
Was my best professor so far and his lectures helped you prepare for the midterm very well. Having the textbook for this course was really helpful as the tests are open book and all the info from the slides are taken verbatim. If you pay attention during the lectures to understand the material and stay organized you'll do well
Classroom didn't have microphone so it was hard to hear him sitting in like the 5th row. Lectures are very boring and dry, but that's expected. He is very knowledgeable and will respond to your e-mails quickly and address any questions you may have. His midterms and finals were not that difficult. Know your content well and make notes before hand.
If there's no mic in class, don't bother coming. You can't hear what he's saying past the 2nd row. Midterms were fair and easy (Average as like B-/B)but the final was a bit more difficult and confusing.
John Allen's classes are not the most exciting but are worth going to nonetheless as it saves time from reading every word of the textbook. His classes end early most of the time but he does stay longer after class to answer any questions students have and to schedule meetings for students to review their midterms. Pretty laidback
