If you think university is easy then you should really consider dropping out. Flisfeder was very clear and direct. He did not sugar coat material or treat us like babies. This was my first politics class and I loved it so much. He is a tough grader but if you take notes an actually show up to class, then there should be no issues!
Even if you don't like politics (or cinema), I still recommend this course! Lets go over some pros and cons. Pros: Watch movies almost every week, multiple topics for essays (read the readings according to which topic you do), gives feedback, participation marks Cons: Readings, doesn't post lectures, if essay is late he will mark it(tough grader)
Matthew read off the slides for the duration of the lecture, the slides themselves not all that clear themselves, so his lectures even less so. You'll do well if you keep up with the textbook readings and you may as well sleep in and learn the slides yourself. Tutorials: uninformative, but easy 15%. Midterm and final: both multiple choice.
Amazing professor. His lectures are insightful and interesting. He truly cares about the issues in politics, and that comes across in his classes. He is a super easy marker, but he doesn't post slides online, so attendance and note taking is mandatory to pass the class. No need to do the readings, he goes over them in his slides. My fave prof.
His assignments are tough and sometimes unclear, but his lectures are interesting and he knows a lot. Very interesting to talk to. He tries to help you if you show an effort.
Not an easy course! unless you love talking about how cinema relates to politics you wont like this course or get a good grade. this course material is dry!!! and very boring.
absolute joke, obviously this class is taken by students as a bird course who have a real course load, this guys things its the most important thing in the work, AVOID AT ALL POSSIBLE COSTS!!!
AVOID AT ALL COST!!! I took this class thinking it was a bird course, but nope I found it very hard. Makes you read 50 page articles every week, midterms and final were extremely hard, and the paper was very vague. Don't take this class unless you are passionate about politics.
Probably the worst course I took. All my friends took liberals and barley studied for them. Now with this guy he assigns over 50 page readings a week. Plus he does not post PowerPoints. Just drop it as soon as you can
I have mixed feelings about this prof. The course itself was interesting but my style of learning didn't fit with how this course was laid out. He's really easy to talk to and is passionate about the subject. If you go to the lecture and make good notes, you can do well in this course.
