Incredibly terrible instructor and professor. As someone who just graduated, I think Scott is one of, if not the worst and least understanding professor I have ever had. At my lowest, Scott never failed to give me a good ol' kick to knock me down a little further. He truly made my learning experience very difficult and unenjoyable.
I've had Scott in 5 classes over the last 4 years. He has the most horrible personality and the most unapproachable attitude. Even the other GCM profs talk about him poorly. He has zero compassion for his students, he will shame and judge you in front of the whole class and make you bend over backwards twice just to get a mediocre mark. -1000/10.
Scott literally sucks. He is very hard to follow during class as he is always talking to himself. His outlines are never clear and takes off marks for things not specified in the rubric. Projects are very hard and confusing and people always seem to have trouble. I do not recommend this guy at all.
I like how clear his assignments are, I also appreciate how he teaches his lectures. His class content is usually on the tougher side of GCM but if you practice, it's not too bad.
When he was explaining the premedia module regarding imposition and preflighting, it left people more confused as ever since several people didn't do well in this module. This reflects on how you did in GCM 250 as well as the imposition assignment in GCM 350.
He doesn't really explain his calculation process, he sort of just jumps in and assumes you know. It's hard to keep up cuz he's pulling out random numbers and you're left having to figure it out yourself. Also he's super awkward
Just no, he makes students extremely frustrated. Screen records our lectures but will not post them for the class to go back to when they want to understand the content better.
Scott's lectures were always very thorough and well organized. He is always accessible outside of class to answer any questions or provide feedback. Assignments clearly lay out expectations and he is a fair marker.
Nice man but extremely awkward person. Makes students feel uncomfortable when he tells jokes and no one laughs or gets it. He would ask the class questions and stares at us for literally 2mins straight in silence and makes us feel bad or awkward until someone answers. When a question is answered incorrectly he would sometimes act like a know it all
He is extremely passionate about the topics he teaches which makes it difficult for students when we aren't on the same level as him. Since he's so passionate about the subject, it seems really easy in his eyes so he just expects us all to find it easy as well. Im sure its not intentional but its just something he does.
