It is my second time to have Dr. Purdy as my prof in my nursing journey. Dr. Purdy is amazing for lecturing and always willing to share her experience with the students. However, this course is horrible (not about the prof). This course takes so much time of year 3 because it has two "big" papers. Also, the GA marked them so hard. :(
One of the most helpful professors at Ryerson University. Schedule for a meeting if you have any questions, that was a great help for me.
Nancy's a very knowledgeable prof and has a lot of experience as a nurse. She can be helpful at times, but doesn't reply to emails quickly, so it's better to meet in person. She expects you to do readings before class for info and won't give out A's unless you really 'wow' her. Nice person, maybe not the best prof.
Nancy is very caring for her students. She will make sure everyone understand the contents well before each exams. She replies emails very quick, if you have any questions, feel free to email her. Office hours are always welcome. In class, if you don't understand the materials, ask! Nancy is always willing to answer any questions you may have.
Doesn't reply to emails.
Nancy is a sweet and smart prof. She always stands by for any questions. She wants her students to be success. Even though this class maybe bored at the beginning, it is very important for nursing students. Nancy will hear students' feedbacks and try to make this course interesting. She loves give examples. If you have any questions, reach out!
Nancy is a very nice person and means well. She really does want the best for her students. However, her teaching style is very abstract and it is hard to know what her tests will be like. She expects a lot from her students as if this is the only course they are taking. Lectures are very long and unhelpful. Overall it was a hard to do well.
Pretty good professor
OK prof, expects a lot from students. Assumes all students will stay in the realm of clinical nursing. Does not teach practical skills that can be transferred into other other areas in healthcare. Not all nurses want to stay in clinical nursing
Nancy Purdy is a truly genuine professor and leader. I learned a lot from her teaching method. She makes students want to learn such a dry subject. Nancy has your goals and needs forefront when she teaches. Superb!
