I got a good grade, but i will say that this prof did rub all of us the wrong way. The whole class was graded by 3 lengthy essays with specific instructions. But 2 of them were due not even 2 weeks apart at the end of the semester. When asked collectively by the whole class to extend, very rudely denied and cited poor time management on our part.
LOVED this class, not sure why others are complaining! The essay instructions were very detailed and clear. She even gave a sample essay outline for us to follow. The course grader was fair. Prof had office hours to meet just with her for feedback, or you could go to her weekly live zoom drop-in sessions to talk. Lectures were super interesting.
There's 3 papers, but the rubric does not offer a lot of information. The marking is hard and very specific. Furthermore, her office hours is only for one hour a week, and she is very unwilling to meet at different times. If you can take literally any other professor, do yourself a favour and avoid this class.
very inaccessible prof. extremely tough grader and does not care about her students whatsoever. this was the hardest class i've taken thus far. shed way too many tears over an elective. only marked on 3 papers that were incredibly difficult to write and required the most confusing format. do not take this class. save yourself.
Emily is a tough marker. She doesn't care about your feedback when asking her for regarding; she says if I regrade, it'll drop down, and she doesn't follow the rubric she provides. In CRM205, we only had papers to do. There were no quizzes, tests or exams. She is unfair when it comes to marking papers. Her teaching skill could have been better.
This course had 3 essays, which were all straight forward and she provided a clear grading criteria. Her marking was fair, and also provided good feedback. Only thing was that her lectures were only available for 24 hours which is a little annoying. But overall a great class.
Do not take this class with this prof. She doesn't have a clear grading scheme, gives 50+ pages a week reading and expects you to write 3 long essay (10 pages+ and you need to reference 7 different sources from readings, lectures, 2 hour documentaries). And all 3 papers are due a week and a half apart (during exam season).
is not flexible at all and not considerate of students mental heath. she just needs to relax its not that serious you're a prof &these students are going into debt to pay your salary like chill dude. give them a break. its actually so cringe. I know exactly what NOT to do if I am ever in a position like her in the future so thanks for that!
time limits on long recorded lectures. inflexible to extension requests/compassionate grounds. 3 essays, that's it. however, she is kind, helps w/essay if u go 2 her office hours, and i learned A LOT abt CRM. this class is significant responsibility but worth it if ur not too busy. not a fan of the format but iiwii. i'd give the course a B- rating.
She is a great professor. Lectures were very interesting and not dull at all. However, there is a 24 hour time limit on the lectures which is annoying. Three essays; each with the same criteria and it was very clear so it's easy to get a good mark if you just follow the guidelines. Feedback given is very detailed.
