Don't take any course under him if you are looking for passing. His exams are way too hard and his grading methodology is tough. Final exam had 4 question and none of us completed more than 2 questions. His expectations are high from a graduate course. His class examples are a piece of cake but exams are impossible. I would NOT suggest to take it
his previous exams used to be pretty straight forward, but when it came to 2015 Thermo2 class the final exam was marked only from yr final answer!! no part marks were given. sometime he makes crazy decisions that can effect your in both -ve and +ve aspects. overall he's good teacher(but hard marker!), and provides good examples during his lectures.
His classes were very informative and helpful. Do not miss any classes before a midterm or the final exam, he provides very useful tips for evaluations. His exams , projects, and assignments were very fair judgements of your knowledge obtained throughout the course/semester.
Really amazing prof, his lectures made me very interested in power generation and made me want to pursuer a career involving power generation. He's also very helpful during office hours and clear.
He is a really good professor and knows what he is teaching. The material itself isn't too hard but it can get tricky here and there. Do the assigned problems as well as learn the concepts properly otherwise you won't do well on the midterms or finals.
Good professor and course. Also very hot and deserves a chill pepper. Helps you a lot during office hours and lectures.
Dworkin is a great guy. He's an entertaining, effective and clear lecturer, and always available to his students for extra help. He's not only brilliant, but also has a really cool and laid back personality. The only downside is that his assignments and tests are pretty rough. Overall though, taking any of courses is worth the level of difficulty.
Great Prof. Makes things clearly and he is very helpful. Was in the first course he taught at Ryerson and the course load was way to much. Projects/quizzes/ assignments/labs/midterm/finalNever had such a heavy course load. I discussed the issue with him and he said he understood my complaint and he was trying something for the first time
Took both MEC 514 and MEC 817 with Dworkin. Now in 4th Year, MEC 810 and MEC 850 are bird courses to everyone who took the first two courses with this guy. He does an amazing job teaching you the basics. He will not cut you any slack though. If you're looking for mercy, switch to arts.
