Overall was a nice professor who means well, but just very unorganized. The textbook which she is a co-author on is filled with errors, the same for her tests.
very unorganized and all over the place. Textbook is full of errors and she gives out assignments with a list of corrections to make because its all wrong.
Took this course expecting PowerPoints or pre-recorded lectures but there was absolutely no information other than the textbook. The textbook is filled with errors and does a horrible job of explaining calculations. Horribly planned course, you're basically teaching yourself.
Way too much to learn and lectures are all over the place. Dont take this class.
Think twice before taking this class with Carolyn. The textbook is a mess and abundant with errors and the prof is adamant on making this class as difficult as possible during a pandemic. Her email replies are unhelpful and her grading is way too tough. Regret taking this class.
If you are taking this course online, you will only have the textbook to rely on for the tests and group project and it is NOT enough to get a decent grasp of the concepts. You need a good understanding of the course for the group project. Very tough without in class lectures any help.
Unclear prof, goes off topic. Emailed her, and she said she'd get back to me. No reply. Take it with Goss instead
For any 3rd year finance student who thinks taking this class is a good alternative to you friends in Fixed Income, Derivatives or other more Quant finance courses think again. This was the 2nd hardest course I have had at Ryerson after ACC414. Midterms are decent, group project was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE and exam was incredibly long and difficult
