Great professor, very few in Ryerson who truly care about students. His compassion and his inspiration for the course and what he does truly rubs off well on students. Would definitely take again as a cap stone course!
Alex obviously has an extensive amount of knowledge in his field, I learned a lot from him this semester. I wish the construction of this course was different, but I would probably seek him out for another class that wasn't a capstone. Good guy.
I thoroughly enjoyed going to his lectures every week. His passion and experience made him very interesting, and easy to listen to. Like others said, he doesn't post the powerpoints but as long as you attend class you will do well. I would love to take another class with him. Ryerson needs more profs like him.
Overall I enjoyed most of the course. Midterm no surprises interesting readings and great slides and teaching method. The final event was mediocre, did not feel an entire day event was neccessary and the feedback a bit distracting to have emailed 30 secs after presenting without a rubric… Great intentions, execution of final event questionable .
I took this class as a first year student and yes the material is daunting. But he made it interesting because he's so passionate, boy he really knows his stuff. Just be prepared to take copious pages of notes, because he doesn't post slides online! I would definitely take another class with him again.
Professor Gill has a tremendous amount of work real experience and is a great professor! he knows what he is talking about and lives what he preaches. He won't trick you for the exam or midterm. A great professor.
i learned a lot about non profit ... he is very passionate about the field and he cares a lot about the poor
