Grading criteria was extremely unclear with no rubric provided for any assignment. Assignments were graded inconsistently, and harshly. Grades were given so slowly that one could not learn how to adjust how assignments were completed to receive a fair and decent grade.
dr. kuo knows exactly whats she's talking about and is super passionate in her lectures however I missed getting the textbook in the first half of the class - the semester before because I was told I wouldnt need it but I did. she's super nice but doesn't post any of the slides online and is hard to get ahold of. tough grader, must attend class
Dr. Kuo was very passionate about this course. She even broke down her favourite chapters into 2 parts so she could spend more time covering them. Though the course was dry at times, she kept the class interested and had discussions. Tests were difficult, you must read the textbook to get above a 70%, assignment was easy with clear instructions.
One of the best psych profs at Ryerson, her slides have the perfect amount of information & she speaks with great enthusiasm. I absolutely loved her class.
AMAZING. Kind, very approachable. If you love psychology you'll enjoy PSY325. Very clear and provides videos/examples from her work experience to help understand the content. Lectures: testable content not in the textbook! We had to fill in the slides but it helps you learn! 1 essay broken into three parts (easy-fair) and 3 tests (fair,non-cumu).
I love PSY 325 with Dr. Janice Kuo. This is my favourite psychology class so far at Ryerson. You have to study very hard but you learn so much. I think she is a wonderful professor
Clear she is passionate about the subject but no one is allowed to be as good as her. She is not supportive of student ideas and she has to be reveared. No warmth and not genuinely interested in students succeeding (beyond her).
She's great. My only complaint is how tough her tests are. You can go to every lecture, do every reading, spend days studying and still get a 70 on her tests.
you can tell she's passionate about the topic and includes a lot of content from her own experiences and expertise which aren't in the textbook ( which she tests you on).Tests are hard and it takes forever for her to mark stuff.
