I had Prof Ratna Ray for CCMN 279... and all I can say is she is one of the best educators at Ryerson University. Im quite shocked that she received a low rating here because I think she was excellent. She provided amazing feedback, was willing to review drafts, and was a quick communicator. I would definitely want her as a prof again. She rocks!
Gives good feedback on papers - but grades so toughly it's difficult to do well. Be sure to incorporate the strategies from the readings into assignments or you'll do poorly.
Ranta Ray is unclear as to what she wants in the course and what she expects out of students gives unclear grading criteria and marks extremely heavily for every assignment. Take any other prof you can just avoid her
She is so tedious and picky!! Worst prof I've ever had and is the hardest marker. She takes off marks for no reason and cannot justify her reasoning . DO NOT TAKE
Absolutely terrible! One of the worst communicators I've ever encountered and she's teaching a communications course. Spelling, grammar and the entire English language are not among her strong suits. Looks for things to justify deducting marks and when she can't find them, she makes something up. Lots of useless assignments You learn nothing.
Very good professor and the course is not hard. Use your textbook to help write the papers and you should be good. She gives helpful feedback on all assignments as well and how to improve. Overall, I would definitely take another course with her.
Gives feedback for all assignments. Marks based on the guidelines she provides. Just have to use the textbook to help make your documents and the course is easy.
Professor Ratna Ray is really helpful when it comes to editing your assignment before submission. She would highlight what needs to be changed in order to get a good mark. She sometimes has a hard time admitting her mistakes and, she's a really hard marker too. Overall, this course was a good learning experience.
Dr.Ray is an extremely difficult marker. You will need to bust your ass just to get an A minus. Students in other sections are receiving higher marks with less effort. Assignments are usually out of a low total number of marks, meaning every time she deducts a mark or two here or there - percentage wise it is significant.
For a business communications prof, she isn't the best at communications... but she is an easy marker. The assignments will allow you to improve your writing which makes this course somewhat worthwhile. You should take this course with her because she is one of the easier profs among them all.
