He's a great professor, his lectures are actually very interesting, you can tell he's passionate about what he teaches, and only uses the 2h lec. I took this as a bird course but I ended up enjoying the content as well. The marking is based off 6 quizzes, 6 self-studies (that don't take long), and a final essay. Overall pretty easy and fun course
Attend lecture and lab, read the instructions and questions carefully for his labs. Follow his quiz study guide and you will do good for a stats course!
can tell hes passionate about what he teaches and is clearly knowledgable super interesting material and a very fair grader
worst prof i've ever had. marks harshly and not accomodating. would not recommend and would never take a course with him again.
One of the most engaging professors I've had so far at TMU. You can tell by the way he delivers his lectures that he is knowledgable and cares about what he's teaching. Self studies are basically free marks and quizzes are content heavy but all information comes from the slides. Doesn't use the one hour tutorial and attendance isn't mandatory!
Philip has a lot of knowledge explaining the materials, and I personally enjoyed being in the lectures. No textbook in this course fortunately, you just have to review the slides, which were quite heavy. He also gives out potential quiz questions in the slides.
Difficult lecturer. Boring material. Reads off slides.
I really enjoyed the lectures, found them super interesting. I just don't agree with his grading technique. I would take this course again, just maybe with a different prof.
Philip is an amazing professor and made this course so much easier than it could've been. There is no textbook for the class thanks to him and you get essentially 30% of your grade free from the discussion posts. He also does not use the tutorial (1hr part of the class) except on the first week. Would highly recommend him and this course to anyone.
