Great class and instructor but at times the class can be disorganized
She's one of the most dismissive and unkind professors ever, particularly if you're a student of colour. She will be harsher with you, call you out in class, and lecture you on "how you should show respect to authority." One of the most insecure professors I've met - probably due to her being Asian.
One of my favourite lecturers. I found her super engaging and I looked forward to her class each week. She's talented at conducting in-class discussions and explaining concepts through real-life scenarios. The lectures are fast-paced though with 100+ slides so taking notes felt like an extreme sport. Not for everyone but worked great for me!
She is an absolute amazing person and had real great lectures. Considering its a first year course she marks real leniently as well. If you ever need help, just ask her and she will be happy to help.
She talks super fast in classes, it's pretty hard to keep up. She tends to have 120+ slides in each lecture, you might as well take notes on the slides on your own time. Exam was pretty difficult, she isn't very thorough on what you need to cover. There is a high chance that she grades on a curve.
Janet was nice, I liked her course and it was generally easy. Lectures were extremely boring and early (8am start). Not a hard class, show up and do the work and you will be good!
I can tell she loves her profession and she's a really nice prof, but the classes were fast paced and very heavy. Lots of material covered in one class. Slideshows up to 200 which she speeds through as she speaks, yet still feels very long. Also the final test/exam was only 5 questions, so don't stress too much. Remember how the charter was used!
janet lum teaches a solid class with interesting subject matter. the lectures are dense and slide-heavy, so note-taking is crucial. record stuff if it goes too fast for you! tutorial was good, andrea was the t.a. and was very helpful. final test was in late november so the course stopped shorter than i expected.
Very rude professor who has thrown (literally) assignments back to you. Might have worked hard to get to the position she has, but very insensitive and ill-mannered. Would not recommend her as a professor as she has hundreds of slides per lecture and just rambles.
She was nice, Although personally I did not enjoy the class. Lectures were long and boring, only two assignments and an exam so there was no real opportunity to get more marks if you're struggling. She talks really fast making it hard to understand and you must go to the lectures or else you would be lost. Felt that the TA marking was fair. Not bad
