She is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable professor, very good lecturer. But, you must read the textbook in order to pass her tests/exams as 80% are from the texts. I found her assignment unclear and confusing with lack of guidance and communication. The midterm was a bit hard, but final exam was very easy. Overall, she is a fair professor.
One of the best professors at Ryerson - knowledgeable about the subject matter, interesting to listen to, intuitive and kind.
I completely agree with the comment below about her being two-faced. During lectures she's fun, but when I arrived late to class on an assignment due date and explained I was not aware papers had already been collected, she refused to take it at first. She told me she should fail me right there on the spot and yelled at me in front of others.
VERY two faced. First I was excited cuz she was so enthusiastic and passionate, BUT when I approached her for a simple yes/no question, she was EXTREMELYYY hostile. Widened her eyes and said "uh so what's your point? Is that it?" You dont know how horrible I felt after.. 0 guidance for assignments, not surprising if class fails (proposal). NOT jkin
She is a nice lady and is pretty funny. Lectures are useless though, as about 90% of her exam questions are from the textbook - which is extremely boring to read. The essay instructions were very vague, and TA did not mark them fairly... not helpful when you ask questions about the assignment either. The exam was also unreasonably detailed.
Awesome prof! Very interesting lectures and practical content. You must attend for in-class notes which will be tested. Her textbook is easy and enjoyable to read. Very fair evaluations (Two MC tests). In the essay, you basically write about yourself and how you apply positive psychology concepts in your life. This is by far my favorite elective!
funny. very passionate. assignments were really interesting. not a pushover, so don't think you can not apply yourself or really try to grasp material. she sees through it.
Prof wrote the textbook and every tiny detail in the book is testable. The essay you have to write seems easy but then most people did not do that well. You think the class will be easy but it is really not. The prof also tries to embarrass anyone who comes in late. If you take the course, don't bother going to class just read the text.
Very friendly, knowledgable and approachable professor who does genuinely care for students. The course material seems fairly straightforward, as do the tests, but this is one of the few courses that I thought went better than it actually did. You must REALLY know the material and be prepared to write short answers about it.
This professor is passionately interested in her material and that enthusiasm is transferred to her students. Two of her pet peeves are students that arrive late & students who record her lectures instead of attending them. Good sense of humour. Would take another course with her.
