Her accent is too strong. Also the midterm and the final exam were completely different, in a way where the midterm was mostly based on the slides and the final was based on the thousand things she yapped about in class and there was very little from the slides. Also took forever to grade the essay worth 35%.
I saw the ratings here and decided to take the course and the professor and I feel like she has changed the way she makes her slides. Her slides were basically 15 pgs of couple sentences and 5 only picture slides and in the final exam atleast 30-35 mcq were from small details she said during the lectures. Prolly wont take this professor again.
SHE IS THE BEST PROF I'VE EVER HAD!!!!!!
fantastic professor, engaging lectures, always available after lectures to answer questions from students, you can tell she cares about student success in this course
one of my fav profs in all of TMU. the course is genuinely interesting and the prof makes the experience even better. she is kind and wants her students to do well. I recommend attending every class because a lot of what she says during the lecture is on the exam and test, which were very straightforward and easy. 10/10 would recommend.
So for sure there is LOTS of reading, most of it is pretty accessible to those who are new to Israel-Palestine. Ultimately, the class facilitated a great space for discussion
This was quite possibly my favorite class. Dr.Capurri approaches the history of the Israeli-Palestinian occupation and genocide in an educated, fact-based, and eloquent manner. Encourages students to develop their opinions/thoughts using evidence-based sources. Her lectures were detailed and engaging. Great discussions were had by all.
She presented the history of the Israeli-occupation against Palestinians and the current situation clearly and from fair but accurate perspectives
