Pretty good prof. The course is pretty easy if you do the readings and read the assignments carefully and do them properly.
Tough grader for no reason. Really frustrating online class setup with no professor interaction, only with TA's yet the prof enforces strict policies and even stricter rubric guidelines that are hard to interpret. As a communications prof she deserves the 1/5
if possible pick any other prof
Professor just marks so hard for no reason. course should be an A+ but shes the reason almost everyone I knew got a B+ even though they got 90s in Grade 12 English.
TAKE THIS COURSE IF YOU CAN!! It's so fun and Crow is actually the best, it's honestly based majority on just attending class but it's truly one of those classes your excited to go to, you develop a community in ur classroom, please take it if you can frrrr.
CMN 406 with Joanne (Crow) was one of my favourite classes of my entire university career. The course was incredibly hands-on and fostered a strong sense of community. The assignments were flexible and creative, and we even had the opportunity to create art pieces and showcase them at a gala at the end of the semester. 100% would recommend.
Content is not heavy and very doable. Professor is such a nitpicky person. She nitpicks on the smallest things about assignments. She nitpicks about things the other profs aren't so harsh with. My friend and I had similar color gradient (which she nitpicked about on mine) but they got 90s from their own prof and I got 70s as a grade. Quite unfair.
Decent prof. The class was asynchronous and online, which felt a bit off at times, but I still managed to grasp what the course was about. Joanne did a solid job overall. Pretty easy class, decent teaching — good luck!
Very passionate about her teachings and a great class culture.
I really enjoyed taking this class with Joanne. She is an amazing professor and does her best to keep students engaged and keeps the class interesting. You can tell she genuinely cares for her students and wants them to do will. Material for this class is very straightforward. Definitely recommend this class with Joanne!
