Very sweet professor, and clearly passionate about this topic but unfortunately wouldn't take her class again. Responds to emails very late, and marked weekly reflections at the end of the semester so you don't get a chance to learn from your mistakes and hopefully not repeat them. Just be careful.
Not accessible and genuinely wants her students to fail. Avoid at all cost.

Tara Burke is literally the worst professor I have ever had at TMU. There is one good review for CPSY300 and I am almost sure she posted it herself. She doesn't grade midterms and assignments until weeks later and doesn't provide a rubric either. She released midterm grades after the date to drop the course so if you didn't do well you'd be cooked.
The professor is not reachable AT ALL. Never answers emails. Only 1 out of 4 marks were returned before the final (35%). Had 2 papers, 2nd built off first, but first grade was not returned ever, let alone before pt 2 was due. Unreachable when asked about the status of grades. Course content relatively easy for an upper elective.
Dr. Burke is the funniest prof I've had and she's genuinely so sweet; the only compaint I have is that her exam questions can be confusing and make sure you read the textbook for sure, can't do well if you don't.
dropped the class after the midterm, which was nonsense. She's funny and holds a lecture well but if I wanted entertainment, I'd go to the theatre. Midterm is ridiculous and confusing. highly DON'T recommend her.
Extremely unorganized, majority of the time spent during lecture was just her chatting about her accomplishments and work. Multiple choice questions were strictly textbook and her assignment instructions were very unclear. A shame because the course is extremely interesting.
Most lecture time is devoted to cringe self-deprecation and stories that centre herself as the lovably quirky main character. Very hard to sit through. Test questions are vague and sometimes contradict textbook material. I only did well because I like the subject and read the textbook. Dropped to A- because I got 0/5 on "online activites".
