Bruno is really nice and you can tell he's very passionate. I personally didn't have any issues with him, and was able to do well in the class despite not attending many classes by just doing the work. Usually the film theory classes are redundant but he introduced some new stuff for us to learn.
By far the best of the non-production courses in the film program. Everything we learned was new. I very much enjoyed Film Theory II.
I hesitated to take a film music course because I don't have a music background. Bruno made the material quite accessible and fun so a great experience all around.
Bruno is an amazing prof. I really enjoyed learning about the history of video games. The lectures were quite entertaining. The midterm was average in terms of difficulty. Constructive feedback on assignments. I would recommend taking one of his classes.
I really enjoyed this elective. Prof Lessard has a really good reputation and its well deserved. The lectures are quite entertaining and I learned a lot from him. I would recommend taking one of his courses.
Bruno is a pretty good prof, I found the lectures to be a little boring and would have benefitted from the slides being posted to follow along. The midterm was unusually difficult and the only other assignments was a group project and a final paper. Overall a good course, but nothing special really. I feel like it could have been a lot more fun.
Very considerate when explaining where grades were lost on certain projects and actually bumped my grade up to an A. Slides aren't posted, so be sure to take notes/attend lectures since there is a participation grade (don't necessarily need to speak in class, just show up). Loved his lectures and it's clear that he enjoys what he teaches as well.
Great prof and class. Super knowledgeable and is incredibly passionate about the material that he is teaching. One of my favourite classes this semester and I highly recommend Directors and Composers and Bruno to anyone with a even passing interest in film or music!
Prof. Bruno is amazing! I was hesitant to take a film music course at first, but Bruno made the material quite accessible and engaging even if I'm not a musician. He knows a lot about what he teaches. His range (western and non-western content) is impressive. Overall, a very pleasurable learning experience. Highly recommended!
Bruno is very knowledgable about what he teaches. Content is interesting and makes you rethink how to watch film. Lectures aren't posted or recorded, so attendance is mandatory. Assignments are straight-forward and midterm was open-book. It can be frustrating not having the lecture slides, so show up, pay attention, and you can't help but do well.
