Peter's a great prof and very nice person. Once you get past his grumpy old man exterior, he's very sweet and caring. He has a lot of journalistic experience, so I learned a lot from him.
Tough but fair and very available to students. A real-life experience guy with an ability to teach and mentor. I had Peter for intro reporting and the masthead and would have taken more classes from him given the option.
Awesome prof. One of the few in j-skool who doesn't play favourites and who doesn't grade solely on a "how well did you suck up" basis. He knows his stuff, he's honest but not rude, and he's a smart man. You are allowed to disagree and he won't hold it against you if you can support your point. And also -- he does have a sense of humor.
Peter is very fair, nice and honest. I've never had problems and he has always treated me with respect as a student journalist. Great teacher.
Peter is easily the best journalism prof out there, in any school. Yes he makes you work damn hard, but guess what folks, that is what the real J-world is all about. Committing journalism is the best thing I've ever done, and I never would have become the jouralist I am without him. He has my everlasting respect and friendship.
straight up HE IS NOT A PEOPLE PERSON. But you got to give it to him...the man knows a lot about reporting. He's a good teacher. I learned a lot from him. He is also very helpful if you go see him in person and that's when he become "nice" either than that he not that friendly. Just go to class and PAY ATTENTION and you will do fine.
Excellent professor. Peter's an example of the kind of teachers Ryerson should have as its full-time profs instead of many of the washed up hacks that are there. He's going to tell you if you're cut out for this business, which is why many have a hard time with his methods. If you can do well here, you can make it in a newsroom.
a bit of a jerk, especially with first year students, supposedly good to those who put in a serious effort, but who wants to do that?
Worst experience I have ever had with a prof...just stay on his good side or you're done. He only cuts u slack if he likes u and by the end, he hated me so I almost failed. He is boring and dull and ruined my experience with reporting
One of the best profs I have ever had. I came out of his class a much better writer. I learned a ton about how to write for a newspaper.
