Raffi Karshafian

Hes a really good prof and you can learn a lot from him. However he is a really tough grader and the content in the course is quite difficult. His tests dont reflect the lectures as they are very difficult. It is also very hard to get part marks. The textbook used in this course is abysmal. Go to class, ask a million questions and youll do fine.

His lectures are really good and he explains the content really well. He also really cares about his students and is overall a nice guy. HOWEVER, his midterm was the hardest thing I have ever done. Make sure you do all the practise problems so you can do well in the course.

He was more than good. He knows what he is talking about, and explain things clearly. There are clicker questions so you better to show up. Keep up with the class work hard and you will be more than fine.

Level of homework and examples in slides does not reflect the difficult of tests - they are much harder. A nice professor, and willing to explain where you went wrong, but doesn't give you the resources to prepare well beforehand. If the whole class does poorly, which it did, it says more about the professor than students.

Level of difficulty of tests is much more difficult than assigned homework questions. Doesn't always make fairly - if the problem is not completed exactly the way he would have solved it he will deduct large portions of your grade. Doesn't read some assignments - gave the whole class the same mark arbitrarily on individual papers.

Decent prof, however it was really hard to focus and stay awake in his class. A lot of the times most of the class was lost. Does not respond to any of this emails but slides are very helpful Midterm and final exam was fairly easy if you study from the textbook too.

Getting an A in this course is super easy if you take grade 12 Physic. Exams are really easy compared to the end of chapter exercise. I personally don't like the prof teaching style. He is helpful if you ask him question but I didn't learn much from his lecture.

CARING PROF

HATE PHYSICS but not Raffi! Such a sweet guy and makes physics bearable. The grading scale is broken up into a lot of chunks so that your mark can be improved even if you do poorly on the midterm.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS GUY. PHYSICS HAS BEEN MY WORST SUBJECT BUT WITH THIS MAN'S TEACHING, I HAVE AN A IN THIS COURSE. Attend his lectures because he gives the best explanations and you can always ask him if you're confused He also likes to joke and breaks down your mark in many different sections such as labs, tutorials etc so you wont fail
