I had a 98 in this course until he decided to value attendance more than anything else. Didn't care at all that this was during the peak of COVID, I lost my home, I was going through things, I HAD covid. I tried to talk to him about it and he thought he was doing me a favour by simply dropping my grade all the way to an almost fail. Never again.
Wasn't a good experience with me
The only thing Ryerson did right was hire Pascal. I have no words to describe how amazing this professor is, if you have a chance to take his class do it!! But be prepared to shed many tears during his lectures.
The absolute best. His class was amazing, marked by a few things. I wish he taught more at Ryerson.
Making attendance worth more than the actual contents of the class doesn't make any sense to me. Some people go through things. Some people get ill. Wish prof was a bit more compassionate about that.
Amazing professor, tragic they cancelled his INT908 class. Truly an inspiring course.
This was a very fun class. Pascal knows how to make it both interesting and informative, which makes me always looking forward to attending the class. The information I learned from lectures and guest speakers really open my eyes!
The instructor makes students feel valued and respected, provokes deep thought and introspection, compassion. This class should be mandatory for health care providers.
This course has been the most impactful elective course I have taken at Ryerson University with Pascal Murphy. This program opened my eyes to a new perspective on homelessness and shaped my interactions with the community I serve. I will always carry this knowledge forward with me in my personal and professional life as a Child and Youth Worker.
