For CMN215 Catherine was just OK - course content was dry/could have been improved, so lectures were pretty boring. She doesn't give much feedback on assigments/lets TAs do most of the grading. Textbook useful for assignments. Midterm and final are take-home essays.
Beware of group projects, we had a group project to do with up to 8-9 people. Talk about a headache. The course concepts felt very abstract and I didn't get much out of it. The slides were useless too. The whole class would be confused from the lectures so she'd send an email the week things are due VAGUELY describing what the assignment even is.
Her class should be an easy A as long as you show up, do the weekly quizzes and always listen to her advice before she assigns the essays. Class almost always finished early which was nice
Schryer is so sweet and adorable. Her discussions are really interesting and her assignments are okay but she is a bit picky when it comes to essays, but definitely not unreasonable.
LNG and PWR was a hard course only because there were many concepts that i was not familiar with, she is very critical of grammar mistakes and takes quite a few marks off papers if there are any. Her office hours helped a lot though, should have taken advantage of them! makes language interesting, overall average course !
She's great! She did a great job at explaining the content and her classes were extremely enjoyable! No final exam, or midterm, only essays. She's always willing to help and does a good job at it! She always explained assignments and concepts extremely well and was an extremely fair marker. She's a catch! One of the most underrated comm pros!
Very surprised by how much I've enjoyed her class. Her perspective is quite different from my other profs (very business oriented) which was refreshing.
