Mireille Truong

I had Mirelle in FRE 201 in 1st year and then got her again in 3rd year for FRE 501. She remembered me from 201 and congratulated me on sticking with french, which was honestly greatly influenced by her teaching. She really focuses on the oral part of the class and really wants all of her students to succeed. Make sure you do the homework though!

Great prof, really friendly and explains everything very well. At first this class can be overwhelming, but she focuses on making sure her students understand basic french for continuing french courses. Overall I loved her class, and will be taking her FRE201 class next semester.

THE WORST PROF EVER!!! she doesn't teach anything and assumes you know basic french from before. Don't ever take this course if you've never taken french before. She's a tough marker and if you get 2 verbs in a whole essay wrong she'll give you 1/10 on the in-class essay.

Dr. Turong is a total sweetheart. She made the course feel more like a high school class than a uni class by learning students' names and interacting with them. I would love to have her again.

Mireille is a great prof! She's always on time to class, she's very sweet. It's great how we get weekly e-mails outlining the lectures/homework we did in class, and provides plenty of powerpoints. It's amazing how "oral" oriented the class is, it really helps us learn. She speaks clearly, answers questions very well, and has a great class dynamic.

Amazing prof!!! She honestly cares about her students and the material she is teaching. Nothing but positive things to say about her. If you have the chance to have her as a professor take her. GREAT CLASS AND PROF!!

She's such a sweetheart. She really cares about her students which is rare for profs these days. Overall a reasonable marker and willing to help wherever and whenever. Deadlines for homework are pretty flexible with her. Great prof, would love to have her again! :)

It's great that this professor sends us weekly emails about what happened during the last class as well as homework and what will happen during the next class. This professor is very efficient and timely in getting things back. It is clear that she has been teaching for years and has really tried to perfect her teaching style. Highly recommended!
