Lectures are disorganized and frankly dreary. Readings are equally as pointless. Little to no content on the lecture slides making it nearly impossible to study for the midterm.
Very nice prof but lectures are super scattered and disorganized. you will not learn anything about fashion history. must attend lectures as theres nothing online to study from for tests - readings hard to find (no links) and no exam review. final assignment is fun but otherwise the class has no flow and is just random facts jumbled on a slide.
omg. You can tell this woman loves her job by the way she teaches and is so passionate. Had fun in-class activities that r easy grades, as well as helpful guest speakers throughout the sem. There is geniunely not a bad bone in her body, she was so nice and caring to us. Queen behaviour , do take her class !!
The lectures were so fun that I didn't even miss one. I will mention that most of the quizzes are based on the lecture materials so if you go to the lectures you will get a really good mark. other that that Alison is one of the coolest professor in TMU. She's friendly, funny, caring and warm.
Invites fantastic guest speakers who truly enrich her class. She frequently has hands on activities to be completed in class which are great if you're a person who learns by doing. Not a fashion student, but I came away from this class having learned so much.
Despite feeling hesitant about this class, Alison quickly became one of my favourite instructors for her rich and collaborative lecture style. I couldn't help but stay focused on her teachings even if i wasn't personally interested in the material. Ive never skipped a class, every lecture was impressive and informative. 10/10 recommend
FFS200 - Not a bad professor just not a great one. Can't say I felt like I learned much in the class, lectures are pretty useless as they just repeat the readings. She seems a bit unconfident speaking in front of a class but engages us in conversation. Assignments felt a bit juvenile, like something I would do in high school.
I'm sorry, but she should not be in the teaching profession! She's is scattered, disorganized and treats her students like an inconvenience. I didn't learn a think in her class. She seemed scared to death to speak in front of the class and when she panics she puts youtube videos on and then screams at the class. As a teacher, I give her an F
Nice woman, accessible via email, but horribly disorganized, came to class once and admitted she didn't know the material. Does talk about herself a lot but never actually explains her research.
Alison is one of the worst teachers I have had. I really expected more from Ryerson. She spends the entire time talking about herself and how wonderful she is and then spends the rest of the class showing youtube videos. I paid good money for this class and I am severely disappointed.
