(RTA316 & RTA938) Adam's a great prof; so good that the only thing holding him back is his dreadful 8AM class start times. He's extremely articulate with how he explains the material and is always very thorough and open to questions. I honestly wish I paid better attention because I would have retained a lot of genuinely interesting theory.
I had a really tough time this fall and where my other profs had basically no sympathy, Adam really helped me out and actually seemed like he wanted to give me a chance to succeed/improve my mark. He's a good dude.
I felt bad for Adam because he's clearly really into the material, but his class was scheduled at 8 a.m. and a lot of students didn't go but were then surprised when they didn't know what was going on or how to write the paper. He responded to 7 e-mails about my thesis before I submitted the paper and offered even more feedback afterward.
I don't think Adam makes the content of his lectures digestible enough for students as he will somehow take a simple concept and turn it into something completely incomprehensible. I appreciate his passion for the class but many of us found it extremely difficult to take it all in during the 3-hour lectures at 8 AM.
You can tell that he's very passionate about the work he did for his thesis. He definitely seems to care the most about that. I found myself getting lost but having an 8am in the movie theatre probably doesn't help much. The synthesis paper snuck up on me, so be aware! Also, every once in a while he'll say something bizarre. Keeps you awake?
Good prof, interesting readings. Gives pretty general feedback. Wish his rubrics were a little more specific. Fun class.
After RTA923 was cancelled a week before the semester, Adam stepped-in last-minute to provide an alternative course for those students - that alone makes him an awesome guy! Super sweet and very helpful! Workload was manageable and the final assignment really lets you express your creativity! Adam is the bomb!
Adam is a swell dude. He deserves his high rating. No complaints here.
Adam is great! Super sweet and very caring! Only three assignments (one being a midterm) in the entire semester - as well as weekly journals (which are very short). There are weekly readings, but he summarizes the main parts in-class. Marking is done by TAs though, so get their opinion on assignments too. Easy A. Would highly recommend!
Adam is very, very intelligent yet approachable. He gave us his cellphone number and was accessible for any assignment information we needed. He also gave incredibly detailed feedback. He is smart, sweet and truly cares about his students. I cannot recommend him enough - especially at the graduate level.
