Kamal Al-Solaylee

Kamal is the best. He's super understanding, super kind and very open-minded, but also gives some good constructive criticism when you need it. Highly recommend.

I've never seen a prof so caring and so positive about mental health of his students. Gives multiple extensions, easy marker and pushes u to grow. The opposite of the tough love kinda guy. He's also gay which explains why he's so nice and open-minded. Love this dude limitlessly.

Kamal is the best. He's so knowledgeable about the magazine industry and is straightforward with his info. He's caring, puts a lot of effort to make sure that you understand the material and gives good feedback. Especially during this pandemic, he's made the transition to online classes smooth and easy. Awesome guy.

Favourite professor of all time - not an exaggeration. Most rewarding class you will ever take. His lectures make a competitive industry completely transparent. His expertise turns complex concepts into practical, memorable career guidelines. Practises none of the elitism common to this industry. Truly cares about his students and it shows.

Really nice guy and knows a lot about the subject matter. He seems to really care about the students and their work and success inside and outside of the classroom. He is quite a hard marker though, and tends to be very repetitive in lecture (spends an hour on something that could be said in 20 minutes). Overall a good prof and interesting class!

Kamal is one of the best journalism professors that I have had. Really nice guy and seemed to really care about his students. He worked one on one with me multiple times so I could meet goals I had set for the semester. Overall great prof and would highly recommend to anyone who has the option to take a class with him.

Kamal is a fabulous and mild-mannered prof. He is clear in his instructions and flexible in his deadlines (so long as you don't take advantage of his generosity). He truly cares about his students and the quality of their work. His criticism is always gentle yet extremely helpful. He also has fabulous style :)

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. I honestly don't know how anyone could rate him badly. I'm so glad I had him as a prof for my first year!

Kamal - what a gangster. Greatest. Professor. Of. My. Life. Period. Taught me everything I needed to know about life, liberty and being free from journalistic ethics. Reminds me of a wise old man without the white hair. His views on the ancient african elephant and its relation to modern society is mind-blowing. In short, switch into Kamal!!!!!!!!!
